From Monday 1st August, patients who wish to see a doctor for an urgent, same-day appointment will be asked to speak to a doctor on the phone first.
We have at least two doctors calling patients back every day, and if your problem cannot be resolved over the phone, the doctor you speak with will arrange an appointment for you that same day. We aim to call all patients back within 2 hours, although in many cases it will be much quicker.
This change has been made in consultation with our staff and patient participation group in response to growing demand for our services. As part of the change, we aim to improve access and continuity of care for our patients by employing additional GPs and reducing the number of locum GPs that we use to deliver patient care.
An e-mail will circulate to all patients this week notifying them of the change, with an attached guide to accessing healthcare and booking appointments at Clapham Park Group Practice.
