Travel Vaccinations
Information and advice for travelling abroad
Travel Vaccincations
All patients must complete a Travel Risk Assessment Form before being offered an appointment.
Complete our online form at least 6-8 weeks before your departure date
Our travel nurse will review your form and contact you within 5 working days with further instructions. If you do not receive a reply, please check your junk/spam folder. If still not found, please contact us using our contact form
Important Service Changes – From 1st August 2025
From 1st August 2025, we will only provide travel vaccinations available on the NHS, which are:
- Polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A
- Cholera
These vaccines are free because they protect against diseases thought to represent the greatest risk to public health if they were brought into the country
We do not offer private travel vaccinations, including:
- Hepatitis B
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Meningitis
- Rabies
- Tick-borne encephalitis
- Tuberculosis (TB)
- Yellow fever (Yellow fever vaccines are only available from designated centres.)
The cost of travel vaccines that are not available on the NHS will vary, depending on the vaccine and number of doses you need.
Please note that we are unable to give you advice ahead of time on the vaccinations listed above. If your travel destination requires that you have any of the vaccinations listed above, you will need to arrange for this separately via a private travel clinic.
Before Your Appointment
- Complete your travel questionnaire at least 6-8 weeks before travel
- We only offer appointments a minimum of 14 days before departure to ensure vaccines take effect
- If you submit a late request, you will be advised to attend a private travel clinic
Malaria Prevention
Since October 2017 Malaria prophylaxis is no longer provided on an NHS prescription. If your trip takes you into a high-risk area, you can source antimalarial medication from pharmacies that provide travel services, or from an online travel service. We do not provide antimalarials on NHS prescription
General Travel Advice
Please research your destination’s vaccine requirements:
Our reception team cannot advise on vaccines. Please consult a private travel clinic if you require pre-travel advice before your booked appointment.
If you are visiting multiple countries, bring full details of all destinations.
Missed or Late Appointments
If you do not attend your appointment or arrive 10+ minutes late, you will not be offered another appointment and will be advised to attend a private travel clinic.
Fear of Flying Medication
We do not prescribe medications such as diazepam for flying anxiety or sleep during flights.
For more information please see our Fear of Flying Requests policy
