- All online consultations are reviewed by a clinician and patients are contacted directly either via phone, text or email (as applicable) by the end of the next working day. We are able to receive a maximum of 50 submisions per day and the online consultation platform closes in the afternoon. Controlled access in healthcare is crucial to ensure the safety, efficiency and fairness of the services we provide.
What if I Need Urgent Care On The Day?
We offer an emergency Doctor telephone service between 8:00am to 11:00am and 1:30pm to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Please be advised that capacity is limited and only emergency cases can be dealt with. If we have hit capacity and are unable to add you to the list, patients will be advised to call NHS 111 who are available 24 hours a day for medical advice and can arrange emergency care. Alternatively, you can visit your local pharmacy for advice about minor ailments such as sore throats, diarrhoea and vomiting and coughs and colds.
Call our reception team on 020 8678 5420 – they will take your details and talk through your concerns.
If our reception team add your name to the emergency list, you will receive a call back the same day, usually within two hours. If you have a non-urgent query, our reception team will help signpost you to the right place.
The majority of emergency calls are resolved over the phone by our doctors, but sometimes we will ask you to visit the practice for an examination or a face-to-face discussion.
Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)
You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits
If you are unable to come to the surgery, please try to make your request for a visit before 11am and if possible please tell the receptionist the reason why you are requesting a visit so that we can prioritise these calls.
Where possible you will see your usual doctor.
In the time it takes a doctor to see one patient at home, we can see four patients in the surgery, so we appreciate it if you can come to the surgery when ever possible.
Visits are usually made after morning surgery, or early afternoon.
Change or Cancel an Appointment
A minimum of 1 hour's notice must be given to successfully cancel an appointment. Where inadequate notice is given of your intention to cancel an appointment, the appointment will not be cancelled and this will be flagged as a 'Did Not Attend' on your record.
You can cancel your appointment via text. All patients should receive a text reminder 1 day before their scheduled appointment. You can simply respond with the word 'CANCEL' should you wish to cancel your appointment. If you have recently updated your contact details, please update the practice here.
Important
Our practice currently loses around 3,000 GP appointments a year due to patients failing to attend or cancel their appointments. This costs the NHS around £70,000 a year, increases wait times, and wastes valuable appointments that could be used by other patients.
Repeated failure to attend and cancel booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources and may lead to a review of your registration at the practice.
